Why we’re building CurrentBase.

The information that could change your next decision is scattered across news, research, and data that never stop updating. Finding it and working out what it means takes time away from the work itself. We’re building CurrentBase to take on that ongoing research, with your interests and goals as its starting point, turning scattered and sometimes conflicting information into insights you can act on.

Our mission is to digest the firehose of information that floods the world in real-time, separating the right signals from the noise and delivering actionable insights tailored for each specific user or use case.

Advances in AI make it possible to connect new information to a person’s goals and revisit the reasoning as evidence changes. We’re starting with Finance: following developments, building investment theses, and proposing researched, sized moves in the context of each individual investor’s portfolio. It’s a focused starting point for a broader purpose: helping people act on what matters without having to keep asking what’s changed.

Our team brings backgrounds in machine learning and economics, with experience across defense, financial markets, and gaming. We bring deep experience building trading systems, dating back to 1999. We’ve worked in big tech on large-scale infrastructure and systems, and have exited multiple successful startups. That experience informs how we build: connect research to real decisions, make the reasoning inspectable, and build systems people can depend on.

Our ambition is to enable people across fields to achieve orders of magnitude more without adding to their workload. We want high performers to spend more of their energy on the work they do best, without the stress of keeping up, second-guessing what they may have missed, or navigating overwhelming uncertainty. That could mean a founder spotting a market shift in time to adapt, an engineer finding research that solves a design problem, or a scientist discovering evidence that advances a lifesaving treatment. In each case, the information arrives relevant to the task, makes sense right away, and makes the next step clear, without extra hours spent searching.

That individual progress is how we believe the world gets better. A better decision can strengthen a team. A discovery can become the foundation for someone else’s work. As those contributions build on one another, we believe the impact can grow exponentially, reaching far beyond the person who made the first move.
